Tracey Farrin qualified as a beauty therapist in the UK in 1980 with a City and Guilds of London Institute Beauty Therapy and Science Diploma. Her initial career included employment at several Day spas in England and then the set up and operation of her own Day Spa in the North East of England.
In 1990 Tracey progressed into Spa education after gaining her first teaching qualification. After relocating to London in 1993, Tracey was employed as a lecturer at The London College of Fashion within their beauty therapy department.
During her 11 years at LCF she acted as a freelance consultant for Marks and Spencer plc ®. This involved education in stores throughout England and Northern Ireland in communication and retail skills.
A further teaching qualification then led to a Course coordinators role at West Hertfordshire College taking the Hairdressing and beauty therapy department from satisfactory to outstanding with OFSTED (The Office for Standards in Education UK).
In 2006 Tracey relocated to the Caribbean to take up the role of Training Manager for Le Sport, The Body Holiday St Lucia. There she was responsible for the training of 50+ staff in all areas of spa treatments. Tracey went on to set up The Oasis Training Academy within the world famous resort. She took the Academy through its accreditation process with CIBTAC UK allowing the academy to offer CIBTAC beauty therapy qualifications to its students
In 2008 Tracey launched F.A.C.E. to face consulting. This business was developed in response to the demand for operational spa knowledge and commercial expertise within the Caribbean.
In 2011 Face to Face Day Spa was opened in Rodney Bay Marina. The Spa has proved to be one of the most successful Day Spas in Saint Lucia, consistently retaining the title of number one independent day spa on Trip advisor.
In 2016 Farrin Holistic Academy was launched along with the accreditation of Gti courses. This is a first for The Caribbean and has proved to be a very popular training platform for both Saint Lucian residents and residents of the surrounding islands.
Tracey’s Consulting clients have included Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain, Cotton Bay Village, Cap Maison, The Landings Resort and spa. Tracey collaborates with The Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards by sitting on the technical committee for the Spa industry. She is also a member of the Hair, beauty and Spa association Saint Lucia Inc.
